Spring Landscape Ideas

We are dreaming of spring landscape ideas while sitting here looking out the window at gray skies and the hoop houses covered in ice it feels about as far from Spring as you can imagine.  But as we all know, the weather around here can change in an instant.  Pretty soon the temperatures will be warming and we’ll all be thawing out.  But the surest sign of spring is that Mark M. Holeman, Inc. is once again preparing for the Flower and Patio Show.

Our company has a lengthy history with this show, dating right back to its beginning.  Mark was an early and active participant and was well-known for his creative and elaborate gardens he designed.  For those who may have missed it, or would just like to know more about our history with the show, check out the recently published issue of our quarterly-published digital newsletter, Planting Prose for an excellent retrospective from David Gorden.

FPS 1991-1

After a brief hiatus a few years ago, Mark M. Holeman, Inc. is back at the Flower and Patio.  We no longer create the showcase gardens as we did in the past, preferring a more modest booth to simply display a collection of our projects, and a space to meet and greet with those attending the show.  We have however expanded the space this year, to create more display space and provide a more spacious area to invite visitors into.   The guys have been spending these cold days indoor in the barn, renovating the booth.  Everyone is pleased with how it is looking, and excited to see it go up at the show.

We hope you all have a chance to stop by and see us.  It’s a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, find new landscape ideas, and meet new people who share our love of gardens.  This year’s show is once again at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and is happening from March 9-17th.  And to encourage you to attend, in the coming days we will be posting a way for you to receive a special discount to your ticket.  Keep your eyes out for that in future blog post and email.   We hope to see you all there!
