IPM TECHNICIAN - BEN EDINGTON

Ben Edington, Maintenance Supervisor

We are excited about some same faces in different places and once this frigid winter is over we are looking forward to a great new year with new projects and ongoing projects with our current gardening friends. It’s always a challenge for us to ‘overwinter’ and this year has been particularly difficult. We’ve been very busy nonetheless.

About half of our staff has remained for the winter. The outdoor crews have been very busy battling the snows and winds. When they’re not waging war with the climate they have been servicing and repairing equipment. The indoor staff has been busy also. The design team continues to meet with clients and plan new projects. The financial team has been very busy closing out the past calendar year and preparing the budget for 2014. The other office staff are busy re-organizing offices and doing spring cleaning, prepping everything for the new season.

We are going into the new season with some significant changes in staff positions. Rich Blankenship, past nursery manager, is now the president of our company. Rich has been working hard with the rest of the management team and an outside consultant source in business strategy and structure. Changes are being made that will make us a more productive, efficient, and profitable company. These changes are all very positive in nature and we will see the results this year.

Ben Edington, past spray technician and integrated pest management representative, is now the new maintenance supervisor. He will be in charge of all landscape maintenance programs as well as taking on the roles of safety manager, fleet supervisor, and training facilitator. He will also be involved in sales to a greater degree.

Terry Fadely, past landscape maintenance crew member, will become our new spray technician. He is taking over Ben’s old job and will be in charge of monitoring landscapes for potential pest problems and dealing with them responsibly when they are discovered.

My current role will continue to be landscape maintenance manager and salesperson. Much of my time this year will be spent working very closely with both Ben and Terry. This transition will be very smooth and we will continue to serve our clients with efficiency and knowledge.

This change within our company occurs as a result of careful planning and a dedicated look to the future. Our high standards and quality work will remain as always. Please recognize these three folks as they move in new directions. They are all high quality individuals and are driven to do their very best at all times. We are truly grateful to have the same faces in different places
