Get your landscaping year off to a great start! As I sit to scribe our first blog of 2016, a gentle rainfall touches the earth as the smell of Tulipsspring is in the air. Tree buds are swelling and we have had a week of weather with temperatures in the 70’s. Most years this type of weather pattern would be reserved for the later parts of March and early April. The calendar reads March 14.

Spring has obviously decided to make an early appearance as winter never really seemed to get started. Mind you, I am not at all complaining. I’ll take the last several months worth of weather any day. It does beg the question, “What will the coming months have in store?” Whatever Mother Nature provides, it is always great to be standing at the start of a new season with the promise of a fresh start and the excitement of being active outdoors presents itself once again.

Last year we began a series of topics on sustainable landscape options and this was a big hit. So this year we have decided to continue or themed inspired blogs with a featured plant every month. Some of these you may be familiar with, some not so much. We will discuss both the attributes of the plant and its use in the landscape. All of these plants we feel are worthy and valuable to consider for use in your garden and are plants we have readily available or can obtain in short order.

Country Estate GardenWe will also intersperse other timely topics throughout the coming months that we also feel will be valuable to our dedicated readers. Hopefully aiding you in your personal care of the landscape or guide you in soliciting the needed help.

With Easter hitting the calendar early this year, it won’t be long before all the spring flowering plants are bursting onto the scene. It is our wish that you are able to find some time to truly enjoy natures spring show and relax in your outdoor spaces with the promise and encouragement of a fresh start.

Happy Gardening!
